2 tbsp sesame oil
3 scallions – finely chopped
¼ tsp sea salt
2 garlic cloves (minced)
1 tsp thyme ground
3 cups water
1 cup whole grain teff
- Finely chop scallions
- Place sesame oil, teff, water, thyme, garlic and salt in saucepan and bring to boil. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Stir once you near the 15 minutes. Spread cooked teff mixture in a shallow pan to cool. When cooled, add scallions and form 6 equally portioned patties.
- Lightly spray a nonstick skillet with vegetable spray and heat. Fry patties until nicely browned on both sides. If desired, top with cheese of choice and turn off heat.
- Remove from pan once cheese has melted.
- For tastiest results, serve with a whole wheat bun, lettuce, tomato and any other garnish of choice.
