Ingredients
  • 2 cups sifted whole wheat flour
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 4 cups grated, unpeeled apples
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
Instructions
  1. Sift together flour made with the Lee Household Flour Mill, baking powder, spices and salt.

  2. Cream brown sugar and butter.

  3. Add eggs to creamed sugar and butter and beat well.

  4. Add apples, sifted dry ingredients and nuts.

  5. Mix thoroughly and place in greased 9" x 13" pan.

  6. Bake 40-45 minutes at 350 degrees.

  7. Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
